STNC Outreach Committee Meeting

UPDATE: FOLLOWING IS RECAP FROM THE MEETING HELD Minutes Outreach / Elections Outreach Committee Meeting July 23, 2012 - 6:30 p.m. North Valley City Hall Meeting called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Brenda Fortune, STNC Outreach Chair. Present were: STNC candidates: Melodee Patterson, Angie Vick, Joe DeCenzo, Lydia Grant, Mark Seigel, Araz Parseghian, Arsen Karamians, Kresse Armour, Cindy Cleghorn. Peter Moen also present. The following announcements were made: CD7 Open House 7/24 at 5:30 p.m. USDA Scoping Meeting re: sediment removal 7/24 at 6:30 p.m. National Night Out 8/7 at 5:30 p.m. at Little Landers Park - need volunteers to man STNC table that night and help with set up and tear down. Contact Nina Royal. STNC LUC meeting on 8/6 will feature CD7 Planning Deputy. Please invite neighbors. STNC meeting on 8/8 will feature STNC board elections announcement, Watch the Road Signs and discussion regarding a WTF proposal at Our Lady of Lourdes Church - Zoning Administrator is holding file open for STNC comment letter. Watermelon Festival - Discussed set up on Friday - Joe DeCenzo, Lydia Grant, Mark Seigel will help. Saturday to man the information table: Araz, Lydia (after 6 pm). Need to check with Tomi, Lydia. Work with Lydia to set up like last year. Need tables and chairs set up with Mark, Joe DeCenzo and Lydia early Friday. Location same as last year. Candidates running for STNC board introduced. Discussed STNC Outreach Election Events. Candidate Forum will not take place. Instead, we will hold the BBQ on Sat. 8/4, Howard Finn Park. BBQ to start at 1:30 (12:30 set up time). BBQ set up location closest to the park, grass area. We need help with the following: BBQ on Aug. 4 Balloons Banner copy Placing VOTE Banners at Sunland Park, VHGC, CD7 - one week in advance Placing VOTE Lawn Signs - 75 lawn signs requested. Please let Cindy know if more are needed. Pick up from Cindy on Friday 7/27 Tables and Chairs set up with Ed Rock on Sat. morning Pick up food items at Smart & Final with Mark Sat. morning Reconfirm with Richard Stewart BBQ set up Reconfirm with Brenda Fortune VHHS students help Plates, Napkins - check with Ed Rock on what's available Condiments Water - check with Ed Rock on what's available Who's Cooking? Green Trash Bags check with Ed Rock on what's available Ice Chairs check with Ed Rock on what's available Tables check with Ed Rock on what's available Gloves Hamburgers Hot Dogs Veggee burgers Buns Chips Cheese BBQ starts at 1:30 and goes til food runs out. Planning for 150-200 Press Release needed - who can help with this ? What Will the Candidates Do ? Help with the BBQ, Meet & Greet neighbors -- No campaigning, be present to introduce neighbors to STNC before / after Voting.. STNC handouts available (Ed Rock). When the BBQ food is gone, close up everything. Tables and Chairs will be placed inside NVCH hallway. Adjourn The public is requested to fill out a "Speaker Card" to address the Board/Committee on any item of the agenda prior to the Board/Committee taking action on an item. Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that is within the Committee's subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the public comment period.
