I've been stopping by to check on the status of the new PetSmart opening day and saw the sign that they will open on Monday, October 22 -- PetSmart web site indicates Grand Opening will be Oct. 27. As you may know, PetSmart has taken a portion of the former Ralphs Grocery store site at 6348 Foothill - next to Do-It Center. The remaining portion will be leased to another tenant, not yet known. The STNC's Design Advisory Committee worked with PetSmart who presented their original plans and modified plans to the community in separate meetings. The STNC/DAC and neighbors also attended the public hearing for the variance request. The community involvement to assist the City and PetSmart with their plans has been great and we look forward to another great business neighbor in Sunland-Tujunga.

DAC at Verdugo Hills Golf Course
The recent DAC meeting held at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course saw a great turnout of local Sunland-Tujunga neighbors. Their voices loud and clear to save the site from development. This was a great setting for the meeting.

Pancake Breakfast Success
Big Thank You to Coffee Stop for the use of their parking lot to hold the Oct. 14 Pancake Breakfast hosted by STNC Region 4 representatives Mark Seigel and Dan McManus. A great time was had by all. Great conversation, great food and great weather!Thank you to Phil Tabbi, S-T Chamber President for the loan of the grill. Thank you to all for stopping by to enjoy a great breakfast! Let's plan to do it again soon!
