Los Angeles County Clean Water, Clean Beaches Measure

Sometime in November all property owners (residential and commercial) received a mailer showing how much more you will be taxed for runoff from your property.  The fee will be determined by the amount of runoff properties generate, based on the size of each parcel (but not its value) and its land use (residential, commercial/industrial or undeveloped).  The typical single family residental fee would be $54 annually; condos would be $20 or less.  The County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing about the Masure; all property owners have been notified about it.  Below is a note from our LA County Supervisor, Michael Antonovich.  If you have an interest in this measure, please reply to the notice you received or go to the website at www.LACountyCleanWater.org to get another one and/or contact Mr. Antonovich's staff - see details below.

Hello business and community leaders.

Many of you are already aware of the proposed property tax fee as introduced by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.

On Tuesday, January 15, the Board of Supervisors will be holding a public hearing to address this fee and you will have an opportunity to speak before the Board on this item. I ask you to attend this critically important hearing scheduled at 11:00 am at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room in Downtown LA to let your voice be heard.
