7660 Foothill at Apperson - NEW proposed Self Serve Car Wash

UPDATE from the April 2, 2012 LUC Meeting.  The applicant's representative returned to the LUC meeting with an updated design and overall plans for the site.  The LUC will not be voting support or non-support until the application is received.  Following are updates from the previous March 19 meeting:

1.  New Design rendering (see photos)

2.  Existing auto repair businesses (mall) will remain.  It is unknown if the facades will be improved.
3.  The stored cars will no longer exist.
4.  This site sits on a commercial corner
5.  There will be a market and restaurant added
6.  Committee expressed concerns regarding an entrance off Apperson.  Applicant's rep said they do not want to give up the existing entrance off Apperson.
7.  They have submitted to the city to "expedite" the Conditional Use Permit and Commercial Corner application process.

At the March 19, 2012 Land Use Committee meeting we saw an exploratory presentation for a new drive-thru (self-serve) car wash to be built at that corner.  The proposal will include the car wash and a fast food business and other stores.  The existing auto repair shops will be closed along with the propane shop.  We have asked that the presenter provide more details regarding their plans so we can circulate them to the committee and post them for all to see.  A meeting will be set up in the future should they wish to continue with the plans.  Below is a picture of the rendering shown at the meeting.
