Waste Hauler Franchise Proposal Coming to Council Soon

Attention those living in multi-family dwellings (apartments, condos) --

The full L.A. City Council could be ready to take up the proposed exclusive franchise program for commercial waste haulers.  If approved in its current form, the proposal will undoubtedly eliminate our right to negotiate our own trash disposal contracts and require residents to separate their trash.  We would most likely be stuck with higher fees and could become liable and fined if tenants do not separate their recyclable materials from their regular trash.  If you care about this issue, be prepared to  come to City Hall and speak.  The issue could come as early as Wednesday, November 14th at 10 a.m.
