Dean Sherer, Chair and Bill Skiles, Deputy Chair have been recommended to the STNC board to lead the Land Use Committee for the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council. Debby Beck, Vice Chair, Design & Architecture will continue in her present position. Cindy Cleghorn will continue to serve the committee in scheduling presentations and meeting agendas. Other members of the committee include Lloyd Hitt, Nina Royal, Elaine Brown, Elektra Kruger, Peter Moen, Aram Avagyan, Chaz vanAalst, Arsen Karamians, David Barron. There is one vacancy on the committee. The committee consists of 11 members plus 4 alternates.
The Land Use Committee meets twice a month on first and third Mondays unless the meeting date is a holiday.
Dean Sherer is a City Planner by profession and Bill Skiles has served as chair of the Samoa project sub-committee. The Sunland-Tujunga community is fortunate to have both Dean and Bill serving in their new leadership positions.
The STNC board will be holding a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 6:30 p.m. to confirm the LUC recommendation. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The next meeting of the Land Use Committee will be held on Monday, Dec. 3 and will include a presentation for a drive-thru car wash at 7660 Foothill - corner of Apperson.
