"Earlier this year, the Mayor and City Council approved the creation of a new development services department to deliver all services currently provided by the Departments of City Planning and Building and Safety. Additionally, planning functions from the Department of Transportation, plan-check functions from the Fire Department, and land use planning functions from the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering were approved for transfer to the new department. The new department is scheduled to become effective January 1, 2014." What is effectively being reorganized is the city's delivery system for development services. All of the above services provided by five departments will be provided through one, new department (yet to be named). Everyone is welcome. Please help spread the word to attend the workshop on Sept. 21. Thank you! --Cindy Cleghorn Land Use Committee Member Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Chair, PlanCheckNC PlanCheckNCLA.com 818-429-6699
