FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 24, 2013 Christine Mulholland to join distinguished panelists for discussion and screening of Chinatown LOS ANGELES--A panel discussion preceding an outdoor showing of the Academy Award-winning film noir classic Chinatown at the Natural History Museum (NHM) will feature Christine Mulholland, great-granddaughter of William Mulholland, along with other guests to discuss the film's merits and relevance to the history of Los Angeles and its water sources. The conversation among the panelists and event attendees will also analyze the film's story, characters and motivations, and separate fact from fiction. The event is one of several planned by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and other organizations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. The engineering marvel was completed in 1913, and will celebrate its centennial on November 5th--the day water first arrived in Los Angeles from the Eastern Sierras.
