At the August 1, 2011 Land Use Committee meeting representatives from Fresh & Easy presented their plans for a new market at the vacant site next to PetSmart in Tujunga. This site is perfect for Fresh & Easy with 14,000 sq. ft. of space. Fresh & Easy is applying for Project Permit Compliance, Signage Exceptions (to allow for larger signs that will co-locate with the PetSmart sign) and a beer and wine Conditional Use permit. Community members present asked several questions about the new store's products and how soon they will be open. Due to all the remodeling work, early 2012 opening is expected.
The LUC voted unanimously to recommend support of Fresh & Easy's applications. Fresh & Easy reps will also present their plans on Wed. Aug. 10. They are anxious to move forward with their plans.
