New Neighborhood Improvement Committee Forming

At last night's Land Use Committee the idea of forming a new Neighborhood Improvement Committee was discussed and we now have interested volunteers!

Below is the info on this "now forming" Ad-Hoc committee.  If you would like to join, please contact me at secretary@stnc.org  -- A committee meeting will be held on Monday, April 2 at 6 PM (prior to the next LUC meeting).

Sunland-Tujunga Community Neighborhood Improvement and Services Committee

            STNC, Stakeholders, ST Chamber, Business, Residents

Looking for a committed group of folks to help form this new committee

Many ideas and questions come from the community at large asking how can things be better along Foothill Blvd. and the surrounding streets and beyond.

The committee will be ad-hoc (it could become standing later)

What will the committee do ? 

Focus on a particular area or issue every month or two months (example:  Billboards)

Issue a letter / make contact with property owners, tenants, city departments, council district office staff, others

All committee members will be trained
Carry an ID card w/photo
Take photos
May or May Not Take on the New Trees Planing project along Foothill
Signs - box, over 10% window, neon signs, Banners,  etc.
Potholes, Street problems
Tree roots
Recycling Centers
Auto Uses
Building Paint Color
Changes of Use
Prohibited Uses
Open Storage
Bars on outside fronts of buildings
Operating businesses in residential

Etc.
