Election Day -- 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday 4/5/08

The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council (STNC) will hold its annual election this Saturday, April 5th at the North Valley City Hall auditorium located at 7747 Foothill Blvd. , Tujunga.

The polls will open at 10:00 am and remain open until 4:00 pm Saturday afternoon.

This year we have 28 candidates running for office. You may learn about the candidates anytime by visiting the STNC web site at http://www.stnc.org/election.html on the "Meet the STNC Candidates Page!" In addition, you may see the candidates at our last candidate forum which will be held tonight, April 3 at 7:00 pm at North Valley City Hall. 

All community stakeholders are encouraged to come to the candidate forum tonight, April 3rd, AND to vote on Saturday, April 5th for the candidates of their choice. 

To vote in the election you must be a Sunland-Tujunga Stakeholder. Stakeholders are defined as individuals who live, work, or own property within the boundaries of the STNC. In addition, individuals who are identified by participation in business, educational, faith-based, community service, youth and special-interest organizations that are located or that meet regularly in the community are considered to be community stakeholders. Stakeholders who are at least 16 years of age or who are juniors or seniors in High School are entitled to vote for the governing body of the STNC. In order to vote, a stakeholder must fill out a Voter Registration Form and show some proof of identity and of stakeholder status.

To establish stakeholder status please bring a California driver's license, School ID card, recent utility bill listing name and address, imprinted check, or a qualified organization membership card. Other proof of community stakeholder status will be accepted per the standards adopted by the Election Committee, and/or accepted by the Independent Election Administrator (IEA). In addition, a voter may cast a provisional ballot if the voter's eligibility to vote in the election cannot be determined in favor of the voter at the time the voter attempts to cast his or her ballot.
