The public hearing for the TMobile application to increase the height of the current cell tower (Verizon) at the Community Christian Church was held this past Monday, April 19. The hearing officer heard comments from the applicant, the church, STNC and a neighbor. The LUC/STNC voted on 10-5-09 that the new design for the TMobile extension of 5 feet and overall new design of the tower itself is much better. STNC also requests that the extended height not be allowed as a precedent for other developments. The next step is a public hearing before the North Valley Area Planning Commission scheduled for June 3, 2010. AT&T is interested in co-locating on the site but that will be a separate application when they are ready to proceed and there will be no visible changes to the tower should they co-locate. That would bring three carriers to this site.
